The Campaign
What Is Know Your Score?
Know Your Score is a community-based campaign connecting HCPs and motivated people around weight and the health conditions weight drives. It is designed to help people understand a simple yet powerful idea: treating obesity first can change the trajectory of overall health. With broad outreach such as collegiate stadium events, expert-led health education, and personalized health resources — Viking Therapeutics is committed to improving the quality of obesity care, one community at a time.
Health does not begin in a hospital — it begins in neighborhoods, campuses, and gathering places where people live and connect.
Through the Know Your Score platform, Viking Therapeutics elevates the conversation around the connection between weight and long-term health span by educating people on how to take control of their health.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Every Know Your Score event, screening, and resource is provided at no cost. No insurance required.
Know Your Score is the community health awareness platform of Viking Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel first-in-class or best-in-class therapies for the treatment of metabolic and endocrine disorders. Know Your Score does not screen, diagnose, or treat any condition.
Yes. Know Your Score is a BMI-based tool that does not require an account, store your inputs, or share them with third parties without your express permission.
BMI (Body Mass Index) is a calculated measure of weight relative to height. It is widely used as a population-level screening tool but has known limitations: it does not distinguish between fat and muscle, does not capture where fat is distributed, and may not reflect health accurately across all ages, sexes, or ethnicities. In 2023, the American Medical Association formally recognized these limitations and recommended that BMI be used alongside other measures of health, not on its own.
No. The Know Your Score calculator runs entirely in your browser. We do not store, transmit, or share your height, weight, or BMI. If you choose to join the Know Your Score community via the opt-in form, only your contact information is collected — your BMI score is not linked or saved.
No. BMI is a screening number, not a diagnostic tool. Know Your Score is not a screening, diagnostic, or treatment program. Talk to your healthcare provider about what your score means for your individual health.
Knowing is the first step. Bring your score to your healthcare provider — they can help you understand it in the context of your overall health and discuss any next steps that may be right for you. You can also explore our Resources page for trusted guides from the AHA, ADA, and Obesity Action Coalition.
No. Know Your Score community events (HCP and Patient educational programs) are registered events with limited seating, so reserving a spot is recommended.
